“I am hard-wired to help people and make sense out of chaos.”  This is why Ann practices primarily in the area of employment law.  She is also a trained, experienced mediator. Ann represents her clients in state and federal courts, administrative agencies and in arbitration. 

In addition to handling litigation, Ann counsels employers in human resources policies and procedures; unlawful discrimination, harassment and retaliation; whistleblower issues; FMLA; Iowa state and federal wage & hour issues; restrictive covenants (non-competes, non-solicitation agreements and confidentiality agreements); and drug testing policies and procedures.  She also conducts management training concerning drug testing and personnel issues, generally, and has served as an investigator for clients regarding misconduct, discrimination and harassment allegations.   

Ann credits her experience clerking for Iowa Supreme Court Justice K. David Harris as providing her with unique insight into the court system and her life experience as giving her insight into people – whether they are employers, employees, lawyers, judges or jurors.
