Sara Laughlin practices primarily in employment law.  She has experience working in the employment areas of civil rights discrimination (sex, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, national origin, pregnancy), retaliation, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, Family and Medical Leave Act, whistleblower, and unemployment cases.  Sara has represented clients in state and federal court, as well as before administrative agencies. 

Before she entered private practice, Sara worked for two years as a judicial law clerk for the Fifth Judicial District of Iowa in Polk County.  This experience offered Sara unique insight into the inner workings of the judicial system and gave her an advanced level of comfort and familiarity with courtroom practice. 

As a former plaintiffs’ attorney, Sara’s brings a valuable and uncommon perspective to her work helping companies craft policies and procedures, as well as helping companies handle employment problems before they lead to litigation.
