The USDA has expanded the timeline for producers to certify their 2018 hog numbers.  After realizing that a snapshot of one particular date may not accurately reflect the number of hogs a producer has on the farm at one time, the USDA has announced that producers may choose any date between July 15, 2018 and August 15, 2018 to certify their hog numbers for the Market Facilitation Program (MFP).  In order to be eligible, producers will have to show they have ownership interest in the hogs produced and that their adjusted gross income average of the past three years is less than $900,000.  MFP payments are capped at $125,000 per person or entity for hog producers.
