Lande Presents to State Banking Supervisors on the Importance of Cybersecurity

John Lande, Dickinson Law Cybersecurity Chair, was invited to present at the Legal Seminar for the Conference of State Bank Supervisors (CSBS) in Chicago this week, a national organization of financial regulators from all 50 states as well as U.S. territories. The CSBS provides state supervisors with a national forum to coordinate supervision and develop policy, represents members before federal policymakers and regulators, provides training, and manages the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System.

Lande, who presented information on the legal elements of cybersecurity, was among several presenters from around the country who discussed major issues impacting banking and financial services in today’s market, including the evolution and future of FinTech, consumer compliance issues, ethics and professional responsibility for state government attorneys, as well as emerging risks and trends in the mortgage industry.

“Cybersecurity is a major issue for banks and companies of all sizes across the U.S.,” Lande said. “The CSBS seminar was a great opportunity to talk to state bank regulators about cybersecurity challenges for banks, and what banks can do to mitigate cybersecurity risk.”
