Student Loans and Bankruptcy, Volume II

Remember my latest blog on the potential to discharge student loan debt? Well, the Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Iowa’s order discharging more than $230,000 of borrower’s student loan debt recently became final when the lender dropped its appeal. If you are interested in the facts of the case or the court’s legal analysis, read this order.
While all cases are fact specific, this case reinforces my earlier comments that even here in Iowa, those of you us suffering from a heavy student loan debt may be able to find relief through bankruptcy.
