Helping people was Associate Attorney Rachel Soderstrum’s main goal when she decided to pursue an undergraduate degree in social work and then complete a subsequent law degree -- with highest honors, no less.
Of course with this goal, her practice at Dickinson Law includes diligently advocating on behalf of family law clients and putting her experience and legal training to work.
“I enjoy giving back to the community through my work as an attorney,” Rachel said. “It’s tremendously rewarding to be there for clients when they most need assistance with a legal matter such as a divorce or custody issue.”
In addition to gaining work experience at Dickinson since she graduated from Drake Law, Rachel obtained collective experience in an assortment of family law matters, including serving as a Student Attorney at Drake's Children's Rights Clinic where she represented children involved in Juvenile Court proceedings in Polk County.
She also gained her chops as an advocate in law school by competing as a team member of one of the winning National Moot Court teams. That experience, combined with her main goal of assisting people who need help, have guided her in further developing her practice.
“In my time at Dickinson Law, I’ve gained exposure to many different areas of family law, and I have a great team with extensive experience to lean on for advice as I assist clients with their legal problems,” Rachel said. “I’m looking forward to continuing to expand upon that knowledge as I build up my practice.”
